Pancake Breakfast at Fat Tonys - 03/13/2018

The Kiwanis Club of North Brunswick county held a Pancake Breakfast on Feb 24,2018 at Fat Tony’s in Leland. The food was delicious! A huge than you to Fat Tony’s for allowing our club to use the restaurant to raise money for North Brunswick High School. The staff were a delight to work with. The Key Club volunteered to serve along with Kiwanis members. Over $1,800 was raised. 

NBKC Awards Scholarships to 2017 North Brunswick High Students - 06/19/2017

-. North Brunswick Kiwanis presented six scholarships this year.  The Club awarded one 4-yr renewable scholarship of $1,000/yr. to Rebecca Harris; one $1,000 scholarship to Trenton Chasteen; and four $500 scholarships to Chandria Bell, Sharyah Anderson, Spencer Gutowsky and Sydney Parker.

Rebecca Harris served as the 2017 Key Club President.  She also served as National Honor Society’s president.  Rebecca maintained a high GPA in honors’ courses finishing in the top 1% of her senior class.  Rebecca will attend NC State University majoring in genetic research.

Trenton Chasteen is an honors student with a high GPA as well as a gifted athlete.  He will attend...

End of the School Year Terrific Kids Awards - 06/19/2017

It pays to be a "Terrific Kid" at Towns Creek, Belville and Lincoln Elmentary Schools. North Brunswick Kiwanis loves to award these students during the school year, and all awardees during get a chance to be selected and given a brand new bicycle.

NBKC and Lincoln Elementary Celebrates Terrific Kids - 06/09/2017

On Thursday, June 8th, Lincoln Elementary fifth graders attended their transitioning ceremony with an audience full of teachers, family, and friends.  Ten Terrific Kids certificates were given to students who improved their school performance in the fourth quarter.  One fifth grader, Terryanna Whitefield, was randomly drawn to receive a beautiful bicycle specially bought for her!  She and her mom were thrilled!  Congratulations to all of the fifth graders at Lincoln.

NBKC Courtyard Celebration at Leland Middle School - 06/07/2017

Monday, June 5th North Brunswick Kiwanis celebrated the beautification of the garden courtyard at Leland Middle School. Kiwanis volunteers worked with students to clean up and redo outdoor areas of the school for the students to enjoy! This is the third courtyard NBKC has completed.

"Terrific Kids" at Lincoln Elementary - 05/18/2017

Sixty-six (66) students from Lincoln Elementary School proudly received Terrific Kids awards on Tuesday evening, May 16th from North Brunswick Kiwanis. The school also hosted an International Night where each grade level represented a different country around the world. Parents, students, friends, and family members joined in on all of these celebrations! NBKC Loves our Terrific Kids!

NBKC Paint It Forward Fundraiser - 05/17/2017

May 10th ‘s “Paint It Forward” at the Leland Wine and Design Studio was a lot of fun! There were 14 participants who unleashed their creative geniuses! Our artist teacher, Zach, was very helpful and patient. Everyone’s sunsets were a little different but so beautiful! A check for $225 was donated to North Brunswick Kiwanis. Thank you to studio owner, Jennifer Marsh, for hosting the fundraiser as well as advertising it. Be sure to see the photos of our supreme artists!

Kiwanis Members at First 2000 Days 5K - 04/22/2017

Several members of North Brunswick Kiwanis participated in the First 2000 Days 5K.

There are only 2,000 days between the time a baby is born and when he or she will begin kindergarten. During that time brain architecture is forming, creating either a strong or weak foundation for all future learning. Child development is a dynamic, interactive process that is not predetermined. It occurs in the context of relationships, experiences and environments. Harvard University neuroscientist Jack Shonkoff puts it this way, “brains are built not born.”
